Are you searching for something real? In our quest for what is real, false truths confront us at every turn. Television and the Internet paint a false picture of what reality is. Emerging fashion and media trends portray Jesus, the only real answer, as nothing more than a guy with a well trimmed beard. However, the man who gave His life for the world gave the ultimate sacrifice to forgive, embrace, transform, and set you free.
We as the AZNYI are committed to modeling and experiencing a real, living, and active Jesus through our events, camps and training opportunities. We want to answer the question on the minds of so many people: Is Jesus real? And what does He have to do with me?
Friday activities start @ 8pm (in order to give time for people to travel after school/work) and consist of our annual voting delegation, annual reports from our directors, funny videos, and playing broom ball together on ice. All students (jr. high through college) and adults are welcome to attend but only delegates (adults and students who are members of their church and were selected by their local nyi youth group) can vote for our district council members for the coming year. Also, if you want to get to know our district council, or have questions about why we do what we do, this is a great night to attend.
Saturday begins the Leadership Summit portion of the weekend and it starts @ 9am. All students and adults are welcome to attend! This year we are going to be digging in by teaching and experiencing different forms of prayer. It's my prayer that every student and adult will have an undeniable experience with God as we learn and experience praying the scriptures, worship, intercession, fasting, and taking a spiritual inventory of our lives. Each session will have a different teacher who will be taking us through the Scripture behind the "form" and walking us through experiencial ways to engage God within these different forms of prayer. I believe that God is calling us as a district to begin to war in prayer, as an NYI body of believers, for revival to come to our churches, schools, and state. This is the first step we are taking as a district towards that goal.
